I have always wanted to make an impact in my community. In October of 2021, as an undergraduate at Towson University studying my bachelor's in forensic chemistry, I founded Linens for the Lionhearted to help victims of sexual assault and domestic violence (SA/DV) throughout the Baltimore community.
For those who may not realize, in some situations, a survivor’s bed linens may be taken as evidence, creating an unexpected and immediate need for basic bedding. In the case that the survivor chooses to seek treatment at a local Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE) unit, they are offered a brand-new set of bed linens to take home with them.
I have since branched out to be able to help more individuals in need, including those that may be seeking support in a transitional housing program. Every set of bed sheets is helping someone during a time where comfort is essential to healing and stability. Your donations are currently being given to Mercy Medical Center SAFE Unit in Baltimore, MD and the Clare House in Lancaster, PA.
It is all thanks to my community that this project has continued to provide for the lionhearted. A list of our partners that receive your donations can be found below. Explore this website to see how you can get involved and donate. As always, thank you for your support.

These are the unsung heroes. The true angels disguised as Forensic Nurse Examiners.
The nurses who perform medical forensic exams have been specially trained to work with patients who have recently experienced any type of sexual and/or domestic violence. Part of their training includes learning how to collect and preserve evidence from your body and clothes that may be used later if an investigation occurs.
Mercy Medical Center is a designated treatment center for sexual assault and domestic violence in Baltimore City, with 30 specially trained Forensic Nurse Examiners (FNEs) available 24/7 to care for victims of sexual assault (aged 13 and older), victims of domestic violence, elder/institutional and vulnerable populations abuse, neglect, and maltreatment. The Forensic Nurse Examiner Program works collaboratively with criminal justice agencies and other Baltimore agencies addressing the needs of victims of violence.
At Clare House, they believe dignity and value are the keys to helping women move forward. While women and their children are here, they can expect everyone at Clare House to treat them with respect, regardless of who they are or where they came from. Clare House believes in their residents’ success – and they provide the tools and opportunities to make it happen.
Clare House transforms the lives of women and their children through an employment-focused program, providing safety, housing, and supportive services with the goal of financial stability.
Their vision is a community where all women and their children are empowered to build a stable foundation
Transitional housing program where mothers and children facing homelessness can receive the safety, support, and respect they deserve – while starting their journey toward a more stable, more rewarding life.
